It's official

Today I am officially a professional author according to the RWA. Yuppers I heard back from the editor who I sent my story to. She had emailed me around the 20th, that is no doubt still floating around in cyberspace. Don't get me wrong it was a very kind rejection and to be honest I wasn't expecting an acceptance my first time out. It would have been nice....*G*

So it's back to another blank screen and see what I can come up with next. Yes I'm bummed but I'll keep trying. I'll be the first to say that my writing doesn't compare to most of what I have read. The good news is that I am getting better.

I keep reminding myself that J.A.Konrath has a book with 500 "BONG" (rejection) letters in it. Considering this is my first, I shouldn't whine too much, maybe just for tonight.

Remember this when you get published.

Hold the contract up in one hand, the rejection letter in the other go P~~~~~~~~~~~~~, then do the Snoopy Dance.

And hope the kidlet feels better soon.

((HUGS)) their loss! as Jennifer Cruisie said at NJRW when a rejection letter comes in... They are wrong cause you know its awesome!

And if i remember correctly the publisher you submitted to had a narrow field of slots to fill in the first place. And authors previous published with them had first oppurtunity to fill the openings!

I am proud of you for completing a story and submitting!! I want you to tweak that story and submit again next year to them and maybe another house or two! Also finish up other WIP's young lady now we know you can finish something, you have no excuse!

(((BIG HUGS)))

(((((((feyrhi)))))))) Even nice rejections still sting.

Marissa is right, it was a very narrow field of slots. 5. And yes, I keep telling own self that *smiles* will revise, edit, and finish other works and submit submit submit again. We know you can do it *grins*.

(((Mo & Michele))) You two are such wonderful people! I truly appreciate the many pep talks and patience when I repeated moan that I suck.

I'm off to attack my word count, revise a bunch of stuff and get ready for the many contests that appear at the beginning of the year. Maybe I'll get lucky off one of them. LOL

You right Michele there was only 5 spots, that is a hell of a narrow field. There's always next time.

For now I'm going to print off my rejection and start my own *BONG* book.
